We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wheel Repair Technician specializing in Welding and Rim Straightening. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring damaged wheels to optimal condition through precise welding, metal fabrication, and rim straightening techniques. Responsibilities
- Perform wheel repairs including welding, rim straightening, and metal fabrication using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding techniques in accordance with AWS standards.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and shop math to assess damage and determine repair procedures.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and mechanical blueprints to guide repair processes accurately.
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct metal materials handling, sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, and ductwork repairs as needed.
- Follow strict safety protocols during all operations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, materials used, and inspection results for quality assurance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site work or manufacturing environments with a focus on metal fabrication or wheel repair.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding techniques.
- Familiarity with mechanical blueprint interpretation, schematics, shop math, and technical drawings.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers with high precision.
- Mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, ductwork, pipe threading, rigging, machining, soldering, and assembly processes.
- Experience working with power tools, hand tools, forklifts, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
- Construction site experience or related manufacturing background is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards and AWS welding standards is preferred.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
