Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dispatcher role based in Philadelphia, PA. The Dispatcher will coordinate daily truck routes, assign loads, and monitor driver locations to ensure timely pickups and deliveries. Responsibilities include communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams, updating load and status information in dispatch systems, and resolving routing or scheduling issues as they arise. The role also involves tracking equipment availability, managing appointment times, and responding to delays or emergencies in a calm, solution-focused manner. The Dispatcher will support adherence to safety standards and company policies while contributing to efficient, cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
- Strong logistics and routing abilities, including experience planning truck routes, managing schedules, and coordinating multiple loads.
- Effective communication skills for working with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, both by phone and in writing.
- Proficiency with dispatch or transportation management systems, and comfort using standard office software and digital tools.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic trucking operations, safety practices, and industry terminology; prior experience in dispatch or transportation is preferred.
- Ability to work with a team, and maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude under time pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or related fields is preferred.
- Willingness to work consistent full-time hours, including occasional extended or flexible shifts based on operational needs.
