Financial Analyst

SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst is responsible for owning and assisting with the annual budget and forecasting process. The position analyzes Member returns including rebate allowances, freight savings and Member assessments. The position completes various financial analysis or projects for Finance or Senior Staff and ensures that project and department goals are met. The position owns and assists in preparation and review of financial statements. The position focuses on providing business intelligence in reporting and on accounting and planning process efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Owns and assists with developing and implementing UniPro budget package on an annual basis.
• Owns and assists with developing and implementing annual financial forecasting model and updating monthly with P&L trends.
• Owns and assists creating the monthly Financial Package and supporting documentation.
• Works closely with department heads across all company functional areas in analyzing and completing quarterly forecasts; gathers, analyzes, and summarizes business assumptions and operational support for the company’s 24-month rolling forecast.
• Responsible for select balance sheet reconciliations and requests journal entries from internal accountants as needed.
• Completes ad-hoc financial analysis projects on the company’s different areas of business including assessments, UPA’s (rebate allowances), centralized billing, other income, expenses, and freight (Peachtree) income.
• Supports department heads across all company functional areas in the development and rollout of analytical tools.
•  Work on special projects, salary planning, and Ad-hoc analysis as requested by CFO or various UniPro departments.
• Supports, as needed, the work of other analysts for UAG/NDA/PFL subsidiaries.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS

Internal contact with various Finance functions, senior management and department heads (e.g. Finance, Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, Marketing, IT, etc.).

External contact as needed with UniPro Membership, Suppliers, Vendors, auditors, banks and taxing authorities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required with five years related experience. Ideal candidate understands various financial analysis techniques.
• Must be a self-starter with attention to detail and ability to self-manage projects.  Must possess analytical skills and have advanced proficiency in Excel and mainframe data retrieval and analysis. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must have proven presentation skills and effective verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage change, and exhibit a high level of confidence when working with department heads and senior management. Must be results oriented with good organization and time management skills.
