The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure with a strong focus on Fortinet and Cisco technologies. This role ensures stability, integrity, and efficient operation of all network systems to support core organizational functions and business processes. The successful candidate will configure and manage firewalls, routers, and switches; monitor network performance; troubleshoot connectivity issues; and implement security best practices across LAN, WAN, and VPN environments. Collaboration with IT team members, vendors, and other departments is essential to deliver reliable and secure network services.


Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of monitoring and management tools, responding proactively to changing conditions to prevent system failures.
  • Oversee and maintain core network services, including DHCP, DNS, BGP, SSL VPN, SD-WAN, Zero Trust, SMTP/Message Delivery, VOIP system.
  • Participate in the deployment (or redeployment) of firewalls, switches, routers, and phone systems and manage the maintenance of deployed infrastructure.
  • Serve as SME for network-related projects. 
  • Coordinate deployment of new internet circuits and related vendor-supplied communications infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain effective documentation on network architecture: The Engineer will create documentation on the data flow, network architecture, and daily operation and troubleshooting for all network infrastructure and maintain that documentation in an ongoing fashion to ensure that all stakeholders have access to relevant and useful information to support their use of the corporate network.
  • Function as an escalation point for technical support and troubleshooting: The Engineer will be on call as a Tier 2 escalation point for user support requests for network connectivity and will apply expertise both for consulting and hands-on troubleshooting/problem resolution.
  • Coordinate support activities with external vendors where required for problem resolution.
  • Implement procedures and standards to ensure that Unipec America's physical, virtual, and cloud network infrastructure is prepared to scale with the business's needs. 
  • Ensure the current network operates at maximum efficiency, exceeding uptime Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 
  • Available for on-call and after-hours maintenance and support.
  • Perform other related job duties as needed. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent of 8 years’ experience in networking technology. 
  • Fortinet FCP or FCSS
  • CCNA or higher 
  • Fortinet products experience (Experience with Fortinet products: FortiOS, FortiAnalyzer, FortiGate, FortiNAC, etc).
  • SD-WAN - Must be able to execute routing protocols, overlay techniques, and SDWAN.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing physical network equipment.
  • Experienced with next-generation firewall (NGFW) configuration and WAN and LAN topologies.
  • Experience in Network Security and Network Security analysis 
  • Fortinet products: 5-8 years (Required)
  • SD-WAN: 3 -5 years (Required)
  • OSPF and BGP: 5-8 years (Required)
  • next-generation firewall (NGFW) configuration: 5-8 years (Required)
  • Cisco products: 1-3 years (Required)
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
