Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes and safety standards
- Assist with food handling, portioning, and presentation to ensure quality and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, equipment, and dining areas following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, microwaves, and POS (Point of Sale) systems for processing transactions
- Support manual handling tasks including weight handling of supplies and food items safely and efficiently
- Provide friendly in-person customer service to students and staff, addressing questions or special requests promptly
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards
Requirements
- Prior experience in the food industry is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures and food safety sanitizing protocols
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, energetic attitude
- Experience with POS systems and processing cash or card payments preferred
- Ability to handle weight in the workplace safely during food handling or supply movement
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Previous hospitality or catering experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
