Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and qualify robust industrial processes for defense-grade steel forgings, ensuring first article compliance with defense standards.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and process validations to deliver battle-ready products.
- Use CpK/PpK statistical analysis and tools (8D, 5-Why) to ensure process capability and stability.
- Apply SPC and stats tools (Minitab, Excel, R-Shiny) to maintain tight process control.
- Leverage expertise in metal processing, including heat treating and chemical coatings,
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes and eliminate
- Partner with operations, quality, safety and engineering teams on short term and long term improvement efforts
- Education: Bachelor’s in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy,
- Experience: 3-5 years in process engineering; working in processes for defense, aerospace, or complex manufacturing/assembly; experience with first article inspections is a plus.
- Technical Skills: CpK/PPK analysis, SPC, RCCA tools (8D, 5-Why), Minitab, R-Shiny.
- Work Style: Hands-on, on the floor problem solving, team support
- Soft Skills: Strong communicator; proactive problem-solver, willing to learn and grow
- Physical Requirements: Stand, walk, lift 50 lbs in a gritty shop with heat and noise.
- Defense standards knowledge (MIL-STD, ITAR).
- Expertise in metal processing, including heat treating and chemical coatings for ferrous,
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (ultrasonic, dye penetrant) for
- Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE).
