Union Tank Car Company is seeking a Fleet Operations Clerk at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Muscatine, Iowa. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Fleet Operations Clerk is responsible for backing up and assisting office functions as required to ensure efficient shop operations. Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Receive cars – OTMA Approvals – Last Contents
- Dispo request and Creation of Waybills
- Enter and update scheduled release date’s (SRD)
- Upload Billing Repair Card (BRC) into customer websites
- Obtain and track approvals
- Release and invoice car records
- Payroll/attendance – back up as needed
- Ensure car files are easily accessible and processed as required
- Manage enroute board as required
Skills/Education/Experience
- High School Diploma is required
- 3-5 years experience in an administrative or office rule is required
- Be willing to assist on off shift as needed
- Be responsive to customer communications
- Work responsibly and efficiently with limited supervision/direction
- Think outside the box
- Be willing to take on other tasks and support all areas of operation
- Multitask with good problem-solving skills and offer solutions to problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
