What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Support position at Union School District?
The Intervention Support position provides intensive, small-group, supplementary literacy, English language, and math intervention for students who find learning difficult. The goal of Intervention is to lift the academic achievement of students who are not achieving grade-level expectations in reading and math or are learning English. Through small group instruction using research-based literacy practices, 3-5 days per week in 30 minute sessions, we hope to support student's growth in reading.
Job Description
- Teach reading, math or English language instruction with small groups of students of 4 or less
- Attend training to understand the intervention programs and its components
- Take notes during instruction and provide feedback regarding students’ progress
- Monitor students’ growth via assessments
