POSITION TITLE: Special Education Paraprofessional
QUALIFICATIONS: ISBE Paraprofessional License
Experience working with special education students preferred
Flexible

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
REPORTS TO: Classroom Teacher, Principal and/or other Supervisor
DATE AVAILABLE: 11/03/2025
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for implementing classroom activities and instructional programs related to the student's Individual Educational Plan as directed by the classroom teacher and special education teacher
- Provide individual and small-group assistance to reinforce learning and encourage positive behaviors.
- Help students develop social and emotional skills, using positive strategies.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, and at lunch (if needed).
- Prepare materials, organize learning spaces, and help keep the classroom running smoothly.
- Observe and record student progress, sharing feedback with teachers.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all students.
