What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake and Press Operator position at Union Metal Industries?
Job Description:
Bend Material
Job Duties:
Daily crane inspection
Operate Remote Control crane and/or Jib crane
Start – up machine
Check dies (may have to change the dies to do job)
Load piece of steel onto press, may have to flip the steel (use overhead crane with boom)
Material preparation (bevel)
Wrench material into position
Bend material with press
Gage material
When done remove from press and put into storage area or next station (use overhead crane)
Clean area
Job duties subject to change
Tools Required:
Bevel machine, tape measure, marking paint pen, crescent wrench, protractor, impact wrench, and any other tools necessary for the job
Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to lift/push/pull/bend up to 50 lbs
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to work in all types of temperatures
Must have some computer skills
Must be able to read Blue prints
Some math skills
PPE Requirements:
Ear Protection, Steel toe shoes, Safety Glasses and/or goggles, Hard Hat, Gloves to fit the job, and at times face shield
Salary : $40,000 - $80,000
