The Recreation Therapist provides therapeutic activities that support patients’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. You would ensure individualized treatment plans, patient engagement, and meaningful progress toward recovery goals.
This role reports to the Director.

Essential Job Duties:
- Develops and implements individualized recreational therapy treatment plans; provides therapeutic and leisure services while monitoring patient progress and documenting outcomes.
- Collaborates with physicians and care teams to assess appropriateness of referrals and supports patient care through education, scheduling, and coordination of services.
- Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to staff; ensures accurate clinical documentation and efficient workload management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in recreational therapy or behavioral health setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Recreation Therapy Standards of Care and patient-centered practices.
Licenses / Certifications:
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
