Director Infrastructure Services Details
Essential Job Duties:
- Responsible for the infrastructure that supports IT including but not limited to wired and wireless network infrastructure and associated cabling, uninterruptible power supplies, and cooling.
- Responsible for telephone communications systems, video surveillance, access controls to IS infrastructure areas, patient entertainment and education video systems and guest Internet, and the management of relationships with key information systems infrastructure vendors.
- Responsible for ensuring that data is backed up and replicated in accordance with department policies.
- Have a complete understanding of the building layout, the inside wiring, and the outside plant for all properties on-campus
- Have a complete understanding of the off-campus buildings, their connectivity, and work to ensure redundancy in connectivity when justified
- Have a solid understanding of the network OSI model and be competent in areas of Enterprise routing and switching, including Cisco IOS, Cisco VSS, and Cisco WiSM technologies and its associated monitoring and management
- Have a solid understanding of structured cabling, including low voltage copper and fiber optic infrastructures
- Manage a team of competent professionals, specialized in the areas of:
- IT Infrastructure Supervisor
- Desktop Support Supervisor
- Information Security Engineers
- Performs full range of personnel administrative duties which include but are not limited to recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, appraising, and disciplining.
- Ensure that all work performed by captive or contract resources is performed in accordance with industry best practices, departmental policy, and documented in accordance with department standards
- Work to ensure that the infrastructure under his or her purview is supported by the manufacturer, enrolled in manufacturer maintenance, running a stable operating system, and patched by the latest manufacturer patches in accordance with departmental policy
- Work to ensure that appropriate industry standards for the safeguard of healthcare privileged information are applied and maintained in accordance with department policy
- Develop requests for proposal / requests for quotation and make purchase recommendations in the areas of information systems infrastructure, LAN/WAN/WLAN connectivity, UPS, video surveillance, and telecommunications
- Attend industry conferences and relevant training events to maintain currency on industry best practices

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Preferably in Information Systems Management or related degree
- Five years successful management experience required
- Fifteen years’ experience required in information technology
- Healthcare IT operations experience preferred
- Ability to lead and teach others
- Current with latest IT developments
- Ten years Cisco IOS Administration required
- Ten years Microsoft Server Experience required
- Knowledge of best computer security practices
