Union Hall is a bar, restaurant, and performance venue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team. Must be available nights, schedule would be Weds-Sunday (with some flexibility based on candidate).
This role is hands-on and floor-focused: ensuring smooth bar operations, supporting the staff, and helping maintain high standards and a warm atmosphere. The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving in real time, and has strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily floor and bar operations during service
- Support and lead FOH & BOH staff, ensuring clear communication and consistency
- Manage bar systems, including some ordering, inventory, and product changes
- Act as point of contact for event and group bookings during service
- Uphold venue policies and maintain compliance with health & safety standards
- Collaborate with GM and ownership on operations, scheduling, and training
- Contribute to ongoing projects such as bar menu programming and operational improvements
- 2-3 years experience in bar or restaurant positions
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Hands-on experience with bar operations, ordering, and inventory systems
- Comfort handling both service shifts and back-of-house responsibilities
- Ability to balance a guest-first mentality with efficient team management
- Familiarity with high-volume environments
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (or ability to obtain)
