The Floor Technician position involves maintaining and cleaning floors in a long-term care facility setting. Will use specialized equipment and techniques to ensure the floors are clean, polished and in good condition, and may include stripping, waxing and buffing floors. May also vacuum carpets and dust, sweep and mop floors.
Must follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment related to floor care equipment and chemicals. Must properly dispose of waste materials and cleaning solutions.
Experience in cleaning, maintaining and restoring floor surfaces is preferred. Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions and work independently. Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly. Must be at least 18 years of age.
