Listed below is your job description of the major duties and responsibilities you will be required to perform. You are delegated the authority, responsibility and accountability to carry out your assigned duties. Even though your job description is broad, you may be required to perform other related duties and activities. The primary purpose of your job description is to participate in the basic nursing care of the patient from admission through discharge and to perform non-nursing functions in the ED. Non-nursing duties will include but not limited to performing CNA duties, performing EKGs, keeping ED rooms clean and stocked, clerical duties, answering phones and relaying messages appropriately. All techs are also trained to perform the role of patient advocate in the ED. The role of the advocate includes clerical type duties including but not limited to patient intake registration, chart maintenance, and patient satisfaction callbacks. This position is responsible to the Emergency Department nurses, physician and ED manager. Job requires use of computer, typing, reading and/or writing. Job requires frequent lifting, moving, standing, transferring patients/residents.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required
CNA, CMA, or EMT Certification Required. ED Experience Preferred
