Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that execute the knowledge and love of art, drawing and painting;
• Create a positive, nurturing classroom atmosphere.
• Plan and coordinate art shows and exhibits;
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate art education into planned academic instruction;
• Assess and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student success.
• Participate in school events and extracurricular activities.
• Establish a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Develop routines and procedures to maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming art classroom.
• Promote respect for artistic expression, materials, and student work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• NC Teaching certification (preferred).
• Previous teaching experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to student development.
• Knowledge and background related to the NC Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS).

Compensation:                                      

• Based upon experience, degree/certification, NC State Salary Guide and the Union County Licensed Teacher Supplement.

Salary : $43,150 - $65,000
