The Union County Prosecutor is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as an Assistant Prosecutor. This role involves performing legal research; drafting, reviewing, and filing pleadings; attending court hearings, prosecuting cases on behalf of the State of Ohio in Juvenile and Adult Felony Court. (1) Performs legal research; analyzes legal issues; remains up to date on the latest case and statutory law; prepares, reviews, and files pleadings; represents the State of Ohio in trials and hearings; interviews witnesses; answers legal questions; drafts legal opinions.
(2) Represents the State in criminal litigation; writes motions, responses, and appellate briefs. Prepares complaints and indictments and attends grand jury.
(3) Attends meetings on behalf of the Union County Prosecutor or State of Ohio; provides legal advice to clients; answers and responds to requests for information by the general public; may be assigned to special projects.
(4) Maintains required licensures, certification, and continuing education requirements, if any.
(5) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
