Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and security within the correctional facility.
- Supervise inmate activities, movement, recreation, visitation, meals, and work assignments.
- Process incoming and outgoing inmates, including booking, fingerprinting, photographing, housing assignments, and release procedures.
- Conduct inmate, cell, and facility searches to locate contraband and maintain security.
- Monitor surveillance systems, control access points, and perform routine security checks.
- Respond to emergencies, provide first aid/CPR when necessary, and assist in managing disruptive or violent inmates.
- Coordinate inmate services, including medical care, meals, clothing, bedding, visitation, and mail distribution.
- Prepare reports, logs, disciplinary documentation, and other required records.
- Communicate effectively with inmates, law enforcement personnel, court officials, attorneys, medical staff, and the public.
- Attend required training, meetings, and professional development programs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- Ability to successfully complete training at the Pennsylvania State Correctional Academy.
- Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime as required.
