Qualifications:

JOB SUMMARY   

The Director of Dental Operations works closely with the EVP/Chief Operating Officer to implement organizational strategic goals, objectives and initiatives.  The Director of Dental Operations oversees the day-to-day operations at Union Community Care (Union) dental sites, including but not limited to, staff coaching and professional development, strengthening the team spirit and organizational culture, supporting high quality dental patient care delivery, patient flow, clinical workflow, compliance and patient engagement. The scope of this position are operations at all dental clinical sites in Lancaster and Lebanon, PA.

 SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

1. Engage and implement changes in organization systems, policies and procedures to consistently yield   better results and more engagement from staff and patients.

2.  Fully engages and is invested in the mutual success of other directors of Union to ensure consistent high results in dental operations. Results include: patient targets, financial performance, staff engagement, and patient engagement.

3. Partners with Dentists and Chief Operating Officer to support the provision of excellent dental services at all sites that prioritizes access, engagement and quality. Engages Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Dental PAS to ensure all teams operate at the highest level to achieve great care for patients. Supports and nurtures the dental home model by growing services and resources in a cost-effective manner.

4. Oversees compliance with policies, procedures and quality improvement efforts that improve staff performance, workflow, and efficiency, as well as customer and staff satisfaction across all dental sites. 

5. . Ensures that all sites have the supplies, equipment and resources they need to optimally care for patients. 

6. . Effectively leads staff by developing cohesive teams. Nurture and support the Empowered Leadership Model and the Blue Line Operating approach.

7. Engages dental teams at all sites in providing excellent patient-centric services. 

8. Provides ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the site staff educational activities to ensure that they maintain and enhance professional development that promotes the delivery of cost-effective, high quality healthcare. 

9. Establishes and maintains a playbook for sites operations to ensure consistent and uniform practice at each site.

10. Identifies changes that should be made in support staff, practice using an evidence-based approach and facilitates the initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.

11. Provides intentional and frequent communication on organizational information. 

12. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 yrs experience in dental administration, required
  • Strong understanding of applicable computer programs and networks
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional leadership and professional development orientation
  • English proficiency required

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

In order to fulfill the requirements of this position, duties 1-12 are considered essential functions 

of the job.  

 

ORGANIZATIONAL INVOLVEMENT

This position is required to participate in mandatory all staff meetings, team meetings and trainings.
