Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions.

Position Title: Senior Accountant

Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time

Supervisor: Assistant Controller

Position Purpose: The Senior Accountant provides support to the Assistant Controller in managing various accounting, reporting and audit support functions.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare and post journal entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including but not limited to students’ revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payables, and reserves.
• Prepare weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly cash and payments reconciliations.
• Assist with schedules and journal entries for grant accounting, reporting and reimbursements.
• Assist Assistant Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records.
• Work on projects and respond to requests from other Finance and non-Finance groups on campus.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.
  
  

Job requirements:

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting
  
  

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in public or private accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• CPA a plus.
• Workday a plus
  
  

Compensation:

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
