Assistant Branch Manager 1 (PT M-F 2:00PM-7:00 PM (with one day off) Sat 9:30AM

Position Summary: The Assistant Branch Manager I is the leader and primary point of contact for issues or concerns regarding the operations and functionality behind the teller line and among the staff. This position leads in assisting customers with all types of account requests, open accounts, process consumer loans, and cross-sell products and services.

NOTE: To obtain employee engagement and retention, within the Customer Service department, and continue to offer top level service while growing our branches, it is imperative that we have well trained employees at all levels. The 6 month position guideline is in place to ensure we are setting all our employees up for success. To apply for another position, employees will need to be in their current role/branch for at least 6 months. Further discussion with a Customer Service Officer can be made for potential exceptions.

Hours: Part-Time (25 Hours), Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM (with one day off during the week) Saturday 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Sunday 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM rotating weekends until Mid-January. Saturday and Sunday required after Mid-January.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the branch staff by consistently maintaining open lines of communication, holding team meetings, and providing individual coaching to create a productive and effective professional work environment.
• Lead by example, support, and assist branch in achieving goals set by management on a consistent basis.
• Assist customers with all account and non-real estate consumer loan requests.
• Lead branch with overall product and service knowledge to further educate branch staff.
• Develop branch strategy along with reporting manager for your location and lead the execution of this plan
• Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the branch, including opening/closing procedures, cash management, and scheduling.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture through recognition, feedback, and team-building initiatives.
• Serve as a positive role model in achieving branch and individual goals, and represent the bank in a professional manner at all times.
• Participate in the selection of new hires with the branch manager. Facilitate and oversee training required to drive employee success.
• Assist branch manager in handling employee/customer issues on a timely basis.
• Assist branch manager in retaining and strengthening current relationships while cultivating new business.
• Proactively participate in ongoing training, coaching, and mandatory meetings to ensure continued growth.
• Ensure direct reports are trained and comply with bank policy, laws and regulations applicable to their roles. Monitor their adherence to internal controls and take action to address employee performance issues.
• Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
• Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
• Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions that apply to designated job responsibilities.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Union Bank's products and services.
• Basic math and proficient computer skills.
• Previous sales and customer service experience preferred.
• Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work effectively.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.

Some sedentary work lifting and/carrying up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
