What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tank Operator position at Union Agener, Inc.?
Position Description, Functions, Duties And Tasks
Unload raw materials from tank trucks into storage tanks.
Proficient with understanding GIPSM (Globally Integrated Process Safety Management) chemicals and associated handling procedures.
Obtain samples and required paperwork from each truck and deliver to the lab for evaluation of acceptance criteria.
Operate and maintain all tank farm equipment associated with the loading and unloading of tank trucks.
Strong documentation skills to be able to accurately and legibly record information per FDA and cGMP specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment or conditions, make recommendations to the Process Engineers, Maintenance Engineer, or Manager and implement changes to achieve efficient operating conditions.
Perform area Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and write and execute Work Orders (WO’s) on equipment in and around the Tank Farm area.
Develop and revise area SOP’s. Train and develop other Unit Specialists in the area.
Perform housekeeping to keep the Tank Farm area and Alley way clean and free of hazards.
Perform in a team-based environment, willing to participate in team activities, serve in leadership roles, and be receptive to receiving and giving constructive coaching to team members and management.
Provide operational and process support to the utilities team. The duties will include multiple functions in both clean and plant utilities areas.
Provide shift coverage as needed to support the utilities team and back filling utility shift vacancies.
Education
Minimum Qualification (Education, Experience and/or Training, Required Certifications):
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or related process operation.
Skills
Familiar with using a computer, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
Team-oriented
High level of initiative
Excellent communication skills
Able to handle change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
Additional Preferences
Mechanical skills
Plant/Clean Utilities experience
Jockey tankers (full and empty) as needed
Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred

Wear Respirator Or Other Protective Gear As Required
Able to ascend /descend stairs and ladders
Able to work outside in elements
Extended work hours/work week may be required during times of peak project activity and/or back filling utility shift vacancies.
