A leading precision manufacturing organization specializing in high-volume engineered components is seeking an experienced CNC Supervisor to lead overnight production operations across CNC machining, Hydromat, and Porta manufacturing departments. This position is critical to driving production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous operational improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
The CNC Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing production personnel, coordinating manufacturing priorities, ensuring schedule attainment, and maintaining operational performance across multiple machining departments. This individual will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for driving safety, productivity, quality, employee development, and equipment performance during the weekend production shift.
The ideal candidate brings strong CNC manufacturing leadership experience, hands-on machining knowledge, and the ability to effectively manage production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise production operations across CNC machining, Hydromat, Porta, and related manufacturing departments
- Coordinate production priorities and scheduling activities to ensure customer delivery requirements and daily production targets are achieved
- Manage employee attendance, performance, training, accountability, and adherence to company policies and work instructions
- Monitor and drive production efficiency, quality, uptime, and operational performance throughout the shift
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production challenges and improve workflow efficiency
- Communicate production updates, shift performance, staffing concerns, and operational issues through shift meetings, reports, and direct communication with leadership teams
- Ensure accurate completion of ERP/MRP transactions including work orders, inventory movements, quarantines, and production reporting activities
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
- Promote and enforce safe work practices while maintaining compliance with all company safety procedures
- Maintain organized, clean, and production-ready work areas for incoming shifts
- Lead by example through active floor presence, employee engagement, and hands-on operational support when needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, machine uptime, and employee development
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous supervisory experience within a CNC machining or manufacturing environment required
- Strong hands-on CNC machining experience including mills, lathes, Hydromats, Porta equipment, and related production machinery
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and inspection processes
- Experience working within ERP/MRP systems; NAV BC experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities within a production environment
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees across varying experience levels
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to make independent decisions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Action-oriented leadership style with a strong sense of accountability and urgency
Preferred Experience
- High-volume precision manufacturing experience
- Multi-department production supervision
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
- Production metrics tracking and reporting
- Manufacturing scheduling and workforce coordination
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the manufacturing facility during the shift
- Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching as needed within production areas
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds
- Ability to safely work around active manufacturing equipment and production machinery
Work Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels and exposure to industrial machinery and active production operations. PPE is required while on the manufacturing floor. The role requires active involvement within production areas and direct interaction with manufacturing personnel throughout the shift.
