1. POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager - Material Flow & Inventory Control (Manager A) is responsible for leading all material movement inside the EMS warehouse environment, including inbound receiving, put-away, internal warehouse operations, SMT/Assembly production support, and inventory accuracy. This role is critical to ensuring material availability, ERP accuracy, traceability, and production continuity across SMT, PCBA, and Box Build manufacturing lines.
The Manager oversees Receiving, Storage, Production Support (Kitting & SMT Line Feeding), and Inventory Control teams and ensures smooth material flow from dock-to-stock, through production staging, and into final consumption.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Inbound Logistics & Receiving Management
Lead all daily receiving operations, material verification, labeling, and data accuracy.
Ensure lot/date code traceability, barcode labeling, and ERP receiving integrity.
Manage IQC (Incoming Quality Control) routing and non-conformance escalation.
Oversee dock scheduling, prioritization, and shipment intake flow.
Maintain a dock-to-stock cycle time of < 4 hours.
B. Internal Warehouse Operations (Storage, Put-Away, Supermarket)
Manage put-away processes and real-time ERP location accuracy.
Implement and enforce FIFO/FEFO, MSD/ESD storage requirements, and material segregation.
Manage supermarkets, point-of-use storage, and replenishment systems.
Ensure bin/aisle labeling, warehouse 5S, and visual controls are maintained.
C. Production Support (Kitting & SMT Line Feeding)
Oversee SMT, TH, and Assembly kitting processes ensuring 100% kit accuracy.
Manage feeder-ready reels, trays, and material staging to support SMT schedule.
Coordinate real-time SMT line feeding and high-priority replenishment.
Mitigate shortages by working with Planning, Purchasing, and Production.
Manage ECO-driven re-kitting, alternates, and component substitutions.
D. Inventory Control & ERP Data Integrity
Own the cycle-count program; investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
Maintain inventory accuracy at ≥ 98-99%.
Oversee MRB material segregation, labeling, and routing with Quality.
Manage slow-moving, excess, and obsolete reporting.
Ensure transaction accuracy (issues, returns, backflush, adjustments).
Lead annual and semi-annual physical inventory.
E. Leadership & Team Management
Lead teams across Receiving, Kitting, SMT Line Feeding, Storage, and Inventory Control.
Develop and coach staff; drive cross-training and skill matrix improvements.
Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and disciplinary actions as required.
Ensure staffing and resource planning meets production and receiving demands.
F. Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Drive Lean improvements in material flow, kitting, and warehouse layout.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 (as applicable).
Maintain ESD, MSD, 5S, and warehouse safety standards (in coordination with Manager B).
Support internal/external audits and customer visits.
3. REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of EMS material control (SMT, TH, PCBA, Box Build).
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, FactoryLogix, NetSuite, etc.).
Knowledge of ESD handling, MSD baking, moisture-level tracking, and component sensitivity.
Strong understanding of BOM structures, alternates, substitutes, and ECO processes.
Ability to read packing lists, CoCs, engineering documents, and material specs.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strong leadership and team-development skills.
Excellent communication across Supply Chain, Production, and Quality.
Strong problem-solving ability and data-driven decision-making.

4. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
7 years warehouse/material control experience in EMS, OEM, aerospace, or medical device.
3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or equivalent experience preferred.
Certifications a plus:
APICS CPIM/CSCP
Lean Six Sigma
IPC/ESD/MSD certifications
Forklift/PIT trainer certification

6. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 25-40 lbs occasionally.
Frequent walking, standing, bending in warehouse environment.
Ability to operate material-handling equipment (PIT/forklift) if certified.
7. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Fast-paced EMS manufacturing warehouse.
Exposure to ESD-controlled and MSD-controlled environments.
High interaction with production lines and receiving dock.
8. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must complete annual training: ESD, MSD, Safety, ERP, and company compliance.
Must be able to work extended hours or weekends as needed for production demand.
