We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience using various sewing machines to complete alterations and repairs to garments, and will have a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship. This role offers a flexible schedule, making it perfect for individuals seeking part-time employment.
Uniform Outfitters has a Full-Time Head Seamstress on-site who will be responsible for assessing the skills of our new Part-Time Seamstress, and passing on appropriate work from the alterations department. Our Head Seamstress will share knowledge and supply on-the-job training when necessary.
Key responsibilities include :
- Sewing patches on shirts and outerwear.
- Hemming pants.
- Performing small garment repairs.
- Trimming complete embroidery work.
- Learning to comfortably use the company sewing machines, along with any hand-stitching techniques required.
- Collaborating with other team members to meet customer needs and reach customer satisfaction.
- Advising clients on alterations possibilities.
- Providing quality-control by confirming all garments that leave the alterations department are altered appropriately and that quality is up to standard.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and ensure equipment is properly cared for.
- Assisting with responsibilities of the alterations department.
Experienced seamstress tasks include:
- Measuring and performing professional-grade tailoring to garments.
- Replace zippers, buttons, linings, and other garment components as needed.
- Working with our embroidery machine.
Starting pay will be based on skills, experience, and work quality.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 30 per week
