USD 232 is seeking a dedicated Grounds Technician to support the district’s commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and well‑kept outdoor spaces. This role plays an essential part in ensuring that students, staff, and visitors experience a welcoming environment across all district facilities.
Grounds Technician - 1.0 FTE
District Wide
Position Purpose: The Grounds Technician provides a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment to ensure full and productive us of district facilities.
Starting Salary: $18.98/hour (commensurate with experience)
Shift Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm
Anticipated start date: ASAP
Required Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Ability to read chemical labels
· Ability to work independently without supervision
· Valid driver’s license and ability to drive district vehicle
· Current Certification of Health, including negative TB test
· Must pass standard strength and agility test
· Completion of clear, criminal background check
Physical Requirements & Conditions:
· Requires prolonged sitting or standing
· Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds
· Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching
· Must work in noisy and crowded environments
· Must work indoors and outdoors year round
· Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors
