We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the precise and safe operation of various heavy machinery, including forklifts, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. Location/Schedule: Byron, GA / 1st Shift
What You’ll Do:
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Accurately move, position, load, and balance materials to support production and shipping operations.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, and finished products.
- Complete required pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections.
- Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and minor repairs on assigned equipment.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Who You Are:
- Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator or similar role preferred.
- Previous experience operating a 260 D9 600 lb forklift.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations governing heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to achieve high levels of accuracy and efficiency in material placement and balance.
- Experience with tracking and updating shipment statuses.
- Ability to perform scheduled maintenance tasks and minor repairs on equipment.
- Commitment to completing pre- and post-operation equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
