We are looking to hire a Mailroom Clerk in our Overland Park, Kansas office. This position is full-time in office, 5 days per week.
SUMMARY
The Mailroom Clerk will be responsible for the day to day operations of the mailroom. Provide clerical support to company such as word processing, spreadsheet management and filing. Receives general directions from Supervisor, but works independently to meet deadlines in accordance with daily objectives, established guidelines and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pick up the incoming mail from the Post Office as well as the mail delivered to the building.
- Sort and process incoming mail. Deliver to all recipients within a timely manner.
- Prep and scan all mail for work item generation.
- Printing and proper distribution of faxes coming in through the ULIC fax and death claims emails.
- Folding machine and postage machine maintenance and tracking
- Management of postage funds
- Opening claims and preparing them for delivery in the courier pick up boxes
- Picking up outgoing mail from office drop-off locations and processing the mail through the folding machine and postage machine in a timely manner for Pitney Bowes courier pick-up
- Ensure all outgoing mail/shipments are completed properly and sent on time. Utilize mail system for shipping and tracking, and coordinate services with vendors, including, but not limited to, Fed Ex, UPS, and US Post Office.
- Maintain toner, paper and other printer components. Troubleshoot and fix copier and fax jams and /or toner replacements. Report problems to supervisor, or assistant, and appropriate vendor when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school / College preferred – Prior experience in an Insurance company and mailroom experience preferred;
- Prior experience working in a mailroom within an insurance company setting preferred but, not necessary.
- Experience in Microsoft Outlook, software (Word and Excel), word processing
- Experience in composing business correspondence.
- Strong customer service skills required to communicate with company associates.
- Detail oriented and able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Continually required to sit and perform computer duties, as well as be able to visit multiple offices and floors in the building.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
