The Commercial Collections Non-DOT Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating company vehicles while servicing commercial customers. The driver will follow assigned routes, collect and transport waste and recyclable materials, and ensure all assigned stops are completed safely and efficiently.
The driver will provide professional customer service, follow company safety procedures, maintain the assigned vehicle, and report any equipment or service issues to management. This position requires dependable attendance, safe driving practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing an assigned route.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate company vehicles while servicing assigned commercial routes.
- Collect and transport waste, recyclables, and other approved materials.
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and customer instructions.
- Safely operate collection equipment and other vehicle equipment as required.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Properly secure materials and loads for transportation.
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding route and service needs.
- Complete required route records, paperwork, or electronic documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Report damaged containers, spills, unsafe conditions, or other service issues.
