What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX/UI Designer position at UnieUnie?
About UnieUnie
UnieUnie is a campus-based social carpooling platform that solves the expectation gap that kills traditional ridesharing — where riders expect punctuality and service, but drivers feel underpaid and unmotivated. By turning every ride into a social experience first, UnieUnie taps into a growing market shift: using online platforms not to replace real life, but to create real-world connection — making every ride an experience with someone, not just a ride from someone
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced (3 years) UX/UI Designer to refine, optimize, and expand the existing design of UnieUnie. Instead of building from scratch, your focus will be on elevating and harmonizing our current user experience—ensuring every update aligns with our established brand and integrates seamlessly with existing features. You’ll work closely with product managers and engineers to enhance usability, maintain visual consistency, and introduce thoughtful improvements that make our platform more engaging for students. If you have a keen eye for detail, a solid track record of shipping designs, and a passion for balancing creativity with practicality, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Audit and refine existing UX/UI, ensuring compatibility with our current design system and brand identity
- Design and improve user journeys for core features like event discovery, ridesharing, and campus communities
- Create updated wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools such as Figma
- Expand and maintain our scalable design system for cross-platform consistency
- Integrate user feedback and usability testing results into ongoing design iterations
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure precise, faithful implementation of designs
- Balance aesthetics with functionality to deliver intuitive, accessible, and delightful experiences
Qualifications
- 3 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, ideally in consumer-facing apps or social platforms
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both visual design skills and problem-solving through UX thinking
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma (and familiarity with prototyping and design system workflows)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and adapting designs to evolving product requirements
- Ability to improve and optimize rather than reinvent—bringing fresh ideas while respecting existing foundations
