Boiler Operator 1st and 2nd Shift

Job Description

Unicorr Packaging Group, a family-owned leading manufacturer of corrugated and protective packaging, seeks a self-motivated and highly energetic Boiler and Starch Room Operator on 1^st shift and 2nd shift in our Marlborough, MA facility.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate the boilers, steam, condensate, make-up water, and similar systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
• Maintain, and troubleshoot above systems. This includes all steam and condensate flows, valves, pumps, and controls. Specific areas to be monitored on a continuous basis including boilers (water level and operation), feed water pumps, chemical feed system, water softener, dryers, turbine, and line shaft operation.
• Make batches of starch and verifying starch quality
• Operate water treatment equipment
• Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
• Follow all written and verbal instructions
• Attend all safety and production trainings
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
• Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends

Qualifications:

• Massachusetts 3rd Class Engineer's License
• Industrial Class 2 Wastewater Treatment License (or ability to be trained and pass the test)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2 years’ experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work on different shifts preferred
• Must be available for weekends/occasional overtime
• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching
• Able to operate large industrial machinery
• Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Able to work 8 hour shifts standing
• Reliable and punctual
