R&D Procurement Manager

Location: New Jersey (Hybrid – Average 2 days onsite/week)

Experience: 5 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage clinical trial vendor sourcing, RFPs, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and execution.
• Negotiate vendor budgets, service rates, payment schedules, and contract terms.
• Oversee vendor contracts, change orders, financial reconciliation, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with R&D, Legal, Quality, Finance, and external vendors to drive cost savings and vendor performance.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 5 years of clinical trial outsourcing or related clinical research experience within the pharma/biotech industry.
• Expertise in complex outsourcing models supporting Clinical R&D and Phase I–IV outsourced services, including CROs, core labs, biomarker services, and central labs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex procurement categories.
• Experience with Phase I–IV clinical trial vendor contracts.
• Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and systems to improve organizational efficiency and cost controls.
• Advanced MS Word and Excel skills.

Preferred: Laboratory service agreement experience; CRO contract experience is acceptable.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences preferred.
