About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Principal Scientist in Analytical Development to lead method development, validation, and transfer for small molecule APIs and intermediates in a cGMP laboratory environment. This is a fully bench-focused role—you will work directly with instruments, develop robust analytical methods, and help ensure the highest quality standards in pharmaceutical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently develop, establish, and validate analytical testing methods for raw materials, intermediates, and final products.
- Troubleshoot and optimize HPLC/UPLC and GC methods.
- Transfer validated methods to QC and process support teams.
- Perform hands-on analytical assays and operate instruments such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, GC/MS, FTIR, Titrator, and Particle Size Analyzer.
- Qualify reference materials and coordinate off-site testing as needed.
- Document all work in laboratory notebooks and prepare technical reports.
- Maintain compliance with cGMP guidelines and SOPs.
What You’ll Bring
- Education & Experience: Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with ≥6 years of experience, or
- M.S. in Chemistry or related field with ≥10 years of experience, or
- B.S. in Chemistry or related field with ≥14 years of lab experience.
- Hands-on experience with: HPLC/UPLC and GC method development and troubleshooting
- Method validation and transfer
- APIs, intermediates, and small molecule drug substances
- Optional but a plus: KF, NMR, XRPD, particle size analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse R&D team.
