Accessibility Tester Local to Colorado Only no Relocation candidates
We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Tester to support the Colorado Office of Information Technology (OIT). The ideal candidate will ensure all OIT applications meet accessibility standards and deliver an inclusive user experience for individuals with disabilities.
Local Colorado candidates ONLY.
Candidates planning to relocate will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing on assigned applications
- Perform manual testing using assistive technologies (screen readers, keyboard navigation)
- Execute automated accessibility tests using approved tools
- Review wireframes and design specs for accessibility compliance
- Document and report accessibility defects with clear reproduction steps
- Provide remediation recommendations and collaborate closely with Dev, QA, and Business teams
- Participate in accessibility review meetings and training sessions
- Deliver accessibility test plans, test reports, defect logs, and best-practice documentation
- Detailed accessibility test plans
- Test reports outlining issues, severity, and recommendations
- Defect reports in OIT’s tracking system
- Summary updates and accessibility progress documentation
- Best practices and accessibility guideline documents
- Work will be approved by OIT’s designated representative
- Weekly updates via SH notes
- Reports directly to Christine Coakley, Manager – Enterprise Applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts
- Hands-on experience with API and Web Service Testing
- Experience with traceability matrix, test strategy, and test planning
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Jira
- Experience with platforms such as Java, Mobile-PWA, Salesforce
- Ability to write detailed test scenarios and estimates
- Strong manual testing skills
