Job Expectations:

Respond swiftly to emergency calls across city streets and various locations, ensuring rapid patient assessment and intervention

  • Provide advanced patient care including airway management, vital signs monitoring, trauma care, and cardiovascular emergency response
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely while navigating complex traffic conditions and adhering to all safety protocols
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses
  • Administer medications via injection or other methods as prescribed, following aseptic techniques and medical protocols
  • Manage critical care transport for patients requiring specialized medical attention between facilities such as trauma centers or hospitals
  • Utilize medical equipment effectively, including DME (Durable Medical Equipment), venipuncture tools, and life support devices during emergencies
  • Maintain clear communication with incident command teams, hospitals, and first responders to coordinate patient care seamlessly
  • Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and trauma medicine procedures during all phases of emergency response
  • Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks necessary for patient stabilization and transport under demanding conditions

Requirements

  • Valid EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification with current licensure in good standing
  • Demonstrated critical care experience within hospital settings or trauma centers, including Level I or Level II trauma center experience
  • Proven expertise in hospital emergency room procedures, pediatric emergency care, neonatal resuscitation, and urgent care environments
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, incident command systems, and trauma medicine protocols
  • Experience with cardiovascular emergencies, airway management techniques, medication administration, and vital signs assessment
  • Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely while navigating city streets efficiently; valid driver’s license required
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking during shifts
  • Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate patient care delivery under pressure
  • Familiarity with medical equipment operation such as DME devices and venipuncture tools; experience with aseptic techniques essential
  • Knowledge of incident command procedures and emergency medicine best practices necessary for effective team coordination
