What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Service Electrician position at Unicity Solar Energy?
Position Summary
As a Solar Electrician, you're responsible for all aspects of a wide variety of Electrical duties from MPU’s, circuit relocations, and other given
assignments as directed by your superiors which can also include installation, maintenance, inspection, operation, and repair for our clients. In addition, the ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and genuinely care for his/her craftsmanship.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- 1 years of Electrical experience
- Residential solar installation experience preferred
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and attributes:
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Electrical code knowledge
- Knowledge of basic trades: roofing, carpentry, plumbing, and metal framing
- In-depth knowledge of installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions
- Ability to make field changes and communicate with Installation Manager
- Ability to test voltages from 10V – 1000VDC / 120V – 480VAC
- Ability to communicate problems to Installation Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation of Electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required to install residential solar PV Systems
- Troubleshoot PV systems, repair and resolve electrical issues related
- Bending and installing conduit, pulling & terminating wire, cable, equipment, panels, and various control components and devices.
- Work with local city and state inspectors for permitting
- Perform main service panel upgrades
- Tie in solar installation to main service panels
- Follow a safety program and attend safety meetings
- Ability to communicate problems to Installation Manager
- Ensure a quality installation experience for the customer
- Ensure all projects pass jurisdiction requirements.
- Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on safety
- Ensure proper job documentation is completed at the completion of each job
