What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Logistics/Shipping Clerk position at Unibloc Hygienic Technologies?
The Logistics/Shipping Clerk prepares, schedules and manages inbound and outbound freight. This position collaborates with transportation carriers to ensure prompt and cost-effective shipments. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide effective coordination and execution of inbound and outbound freight movements (e.g., manufacturing stage, storage and product orders) for internal and external customers and vendors and to maintain a safe working environment.
Schedules and Tracks Inbound and Outbound Freight
· Schedules outbound parcel packages, LTL freight and international shipments to customers and vendors.
· Schedules pick-ups and arranges inbound packages, LTL freight and international inbound shipments from customers and vendors.
· Collaborates with international freight forwarders for inbound and outbound freight.
· Verifies shipment methods, shipping addresses and other pertinent information to ensure accuracy.
· Tracks shipments and investigates lost shipments and late deliveries.
· Reports shipment anomalies and delays to the Sales Dept and Operations.
· Coordinates the daily execution of shipments (i.e., quoting, scheduling, building, booking, tracking, etc.).
Coordinates Shipment Logistics
· Selects the best delivery option that is cost and time efficient
· Coordinates rates and quotes for customers and transportation agents in a timely manner
· Researches and determines export/import restrictions for shipments
· Dispatches pick-ups to authorized agents, freight carriers (i.e., shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, etc.), clearing agents, warehouses and all other parties involved in shipments
· Coordinates special shipment arrangements, as necessary
· Researches and resolves issues regarding billing and shipping discrepancies (e.g., missed pick-up, late delivery, damaged freight, incorrect billing, etc.), and communicates updates to Accounting Department, customers and vendors in a timely manner
· Consolidates shipments whenever possible
Prepares and Reviews Shipment Documentation
· Creates and reviews required BC shipment documentation for outbound freight prior to distribution
· Reviews orders, shipment documents, and withdrawal requests from the warehouse to ensure accurate fulfillments
· Maintains the records and transactions of outbound and inbound shipments
· Prepares all necessary shipment documentation to process import/export documentation for clearing agents: (HAWB's, MAWB's, AES's, Manifest, Shipping Instructions, Haz Cargo Decl., Bill of Lading, and Certificate of Origin, etc.)
· Organizes and coordinates information accrued from point of origin to delivery
· Prepares BC Packing List for daily orders
Builds and Maintains Relationships
· Builds and maintains relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding air, ocean, import and export products
· Responds to customer inquiries
· Assists Warehouse team members with other warehouse tasks, as requested
· Acts as a liaison with Custom Brokers and agents
Maintains a Safe Working Environment
· Maintains a clean and organized work area that is free from debris
· Wears proper clothing and personal protective equipment, as necessary
· Adheres to all safety guidelines

Experience, Education, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understands supply chain common obstacles and effective solutions
- Experience working with various freight carriers, both domestic and international
- Possesses industry knowledge and terminology
- Knowledge of state, federal and international applicable laws and regulations (i.e., customs, TSA, security, and all other import and export government agencies that regulate international trade)
- Proficient in ERP for shipment documentation
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite/365
- Working knowledge of shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and experience with Courier Services and LTL Freight.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels inside and outside of the organization
- Ability to analyze complex situations and arrive to sound conclusions
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items.
- Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
- Ability to establish priorities as situations arise
- Operate with integrity and sense of urgency
- Ability to operate forklift safely as needed (training will be provided if necessary)

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
· Ability to perform daily work safely and in full compliance with OSHA safety standards
· Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, and reach in large, high and/or tight spaces
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the warehouse
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Utilize ladder up to elevated heights
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock
Must be lift certified or willing to be certified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
