Job Description: Uni-Cast has an immediate opening for a Financial Controller. This position is responsible for overseeing financial procedures, statutory obligations, payroll, and purchasing functions, as well as Human Resources. Responsibilities include:
- Manage all finance and accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Purchasing functions and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of the resulting data and documentation.
- Manage Human Resources and ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws.
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Support manufacturing by ensuring timely ordering and receipt of raw materials and supplies.
- Maintain monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
- Manage general ledger and accurate and timely posting of expenses.
- Ensure accruals and reserves are properly analyzed and reported.
- Review supply chain for cost reduction opportunities.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition.
- Complete Month-end and Year-end closings.
- Produce timely company financial statements, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flow, as well as other requested reports.
- Ensure WIP accuracy.
- Prepare annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Manage third party relationships with key suppliers (bank, insurance, utility, 401k, etc).
- Lead negotiations for annual health insurance and general liability insurance renewal.
- Negotiate utility supplier contracts.
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of the various quarterly and annual payroll forms including W-2, 1099, 1095 forms, as well as all quarterly payroll tax returns.
- Assist external accounting firm with annual financial review by supplying all necessary supporting documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with annual 5500 preparation for 401k plan.
- Ensure all applicable internal policies, operational controls, and procedures are followed and updated when necessary.
- Perform other related or requested duties as required or directed on an as needed basis.
Requirements for Financial Controller:
- B.S. Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 5 years of Plant Controller Experience
- 10 years of professional accounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment
- Prior management experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Highly organized, detail oriented
- Experience with financial software (MAS90, Sage50 a plus)
