Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the golf course’s turf health through precise lawn care, fertilization, aeration, and pest control practices.
- Operate and troubleshoot irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules that promote healthy growth and conserve water resources.
- Perform landscaping duties including planting, pruning, mowing, edging, and garden bed maintenance to uphold aesthetic standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and other groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently for routine maintenance tasks.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of soil, sod, or landscaping materials while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage pesticide application processes responsibly by following safety guidelines and environmental regulations to protect the course environment.
- Operate company vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment for transportation across the course and performing various landscaping duties.
- Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure all tools and machinery operate efficiently and safely.
- Assist with athletic field groundskeeping when needed, ensuring surfaces are safe and playable at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to develop innovative landscaping solutions that enhance the course’s visual appeal and playability.
Skills
- Proficiency in irrigation system installation, repair, and management to maintain optimal watering conditions.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, lawn care practices, horticulture principles, and landscape maintenance techniques.
- Experience operating ground maintenance machinery such as mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, power tools, and other landscaping equipment.
- Familiarity with pesticide management including safe handling, application techniques, and environmental considerations.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Excellent understanding of power tool safety standards and routine equipment maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in athletic field groundskeeping practices ensuring safe playing surfaces for sports activities when required.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely across varied terrains on the course.
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within a diverse crew of groundskeepers and horticulturists.
