Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, boilers, and refrigeration equipment according to schematics and design specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans for accurate installation and repairs
- Conduct system diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify issues
- Repair or replace mechanical components including motors, compressors, valves, piping (plumbing), welders, and other equipment as needed
- Perform field service tasks such as appliance repair, property maintenance, and equipment upgrades in various settings
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes during all installation and maintenance activities
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction-related roles with a focus on HVAC installation or service technician experience
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, boilers, and related equipment
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately; familiarity with HVAC design principles is preferred
- Hands-on experience with plumbing systems, welding techniques, and equipment repair processes
- Knowledge of electrical systems associated with HVAC units; experience with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters is advantageous
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver certification is a plus
- Experience working with field service operations in property maintenance or appliance repair environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments
