Terms of Employment: Ten months 10 days. Wages according to current schedule.

Primary Purpose:
Assist diagnostician in the implementation of the campus Child-Centered Special Education Process. Perform routine clerical duties under the general supervision of principal and direct supervision of diagnostician(s).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance skills
Ability to file forms and documents following special services system
Effective communication skill and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents
Experience:
One year experience working with children
One year clerical experience
Special Education Program Support
- Make referrals to diagnostician upon receipt of a request for assistance regarding the Special Education Child-Centered Process
- Perform general tasks assigned by the diagnostician(s) and maintain files and supplies.
- Assemble forms for Admission, Review, and Dismissal committee (ARDC) meetings and process meeting notices and notices of evaluation.
- Insert results of ARDC deliberations onto a PEIMS form for entry into the district’s database.
- May assist in the instruction of special education students.
Accounting and Inventory
- Assist in the scheduling of evaluations and ARDC meetings.
- Process completed parent notices and forms, including filing and distribution.
Clerical Support
- Prepare forms and routine correspondence using a computer.
- Check ARD forms for accuracy, clerical errors, and compliance.
- Assist diagnostician in keeping administrative and special education records and preparing required reports.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with continuous interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Use of hands for keyboarding, bending and kneeling for filing, and light lifting of supplies and boxes.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy. Evaluation will be documented on the Staff Evaluation form for this position.
