Role Description
The Senior Utility Locating Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Escondido, CA. This position involves using state-of-the-art technology to locate and mark underground utilities. Day-to-day activities include performing utility locates, operating specialized equipment, troubleshooting locating challenges, communicating with clients, and ensuring accurate and timely data reporting. The Technician will collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality utility exploration services.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in operating and troubleshooting, use of Electromagnetic utility locating equipment, including use of meters and related tools
- Understanding of utilities systems and the fundamentals of underground utility variables
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to address locating challenges efficiently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and team members effectively
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced, on-site environment
- Experience with air-vacuum excavation methods or related technology is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel locally
- Physical ability to perform fieldwork in diverse conditions
- Use of Windows based laptop computer and software
- Knowledge of how to read utility maps
- Ability to provide accurate locates, documentation and maps
- Represent the company in a professional manner to our clients
- Salary: $20 to $35 per hour DOE
