Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Heavy Equipment Operator who cares about the quality of their work to support utility construction projects throughout Middle Tennessee (based out of Dickson). This position primarily involves operating an excavator for water, sewer, and storm utility installation, along with occasional operation of other equipment.
The right candidate takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely, and values quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators for trenching, backfilling, and excavation for water, sewer, and storm utilities
- Load, move, and place materials safely and efficiently
- Assist crews by lifting and positioning pipe and materials during installation
- Perform excavation cleanup and site preparation as needed
- Operate additional equipment such as skid steers and loaders when required
- Read and follow construction plans and grade information
- Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
- Follow all safety procedures and jobsite requirements
Qualifications
- 6 months – 5 years' experience operating heavy equipment in construction
- Experience operating excavators required
- Ability to operate skid steers and loaders (dozer experience is a plus)
- Ability to read and understand construction plans
- Willingness to assist the crew outside the machine when needed
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing (drug-free workplace)

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
