Overview
Staff Accountants perform full cycle accounting of an operating unit. This position will be responsible for the accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations for this particular business unit.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and record financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and process monthly adjusting journal entries and assist with monthly financial close.
- Maintain and update Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports to track project/job profitability.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and maintain strong internal control processes.
- Support audit preparation by providing accurate schedules and documentation.
- Assist with project-based financial reporting as needed.
- Other related duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Prior experience in the construction or contracting industry preferred.
- Proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) accounting software and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and project-based financial reporting.

Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Long periods of using a computer.
Pay- $ 30.00 - $ 37.00 / Hourly *Depending on Experience
