Job Summary
Overview
Experienced, hands on restoration technician to repair, restore, and customize classic and modern vehicles to showroom and client specified standards. Work includes metal fabrication, bodywork, mechanical reassembly, surface prep, and collaboration with painters, fabricators, and project managers to deliver high quality, timely restorations.
Key responsibilities
- Strip vehicles to assess condition; document and estimate restoration needs.
- Prep and fit body panels, align gaps
- Rebuild and install mechanical systems (suspension, brakes, steering, drivetrain) during reassembly.
- Install interior components, trim, wiring, and aftermarket/custom parts per spec.
- Troubleshoot fitment and mechanical issues; perform test drives and quality checks.
- Maintain clean, safe work area; follow shop procedures and record hours/work progress.
- Communicate with project manager and customers on status, timelines, and required parts.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, reassembly, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow work orders.
- Detail-oriented, problem-solver, able to work independently and in a team.
Preferred
- classic car restoration experience, experience with specialty/custom builds.
Physical/working conditions
- Frequent standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and use of power tools. PPE required. Shop schedule may include overtime to meet project deadlines.
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
