What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at UNDERBRINK'S BAKERY, LLC?
We are a mom & pop shop that's been in the same location since 1929. We are looking for a baker to prepare our danish every morning, cookie doughs, pie dough, etc. Early morning responsibilities include filling & baking our danish; customizing for orders and/or stocking the front cases before opening. To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge & work experience as a baker. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis. Must work well under pressure, be able to work at a fast pace, be able to multi-task, be organized and know how to prioritize.
We pride ourselves on working together as a whole, helping fellow employees when needed, jumping in and covering when necessary. We are a smaller, hometown bakery, where having versatile employees plays a huge part in keeping our doors open. .
Responsibilities
- Baking early in the morning
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools as needed
- Weigh flour and other ingredients
- Bake different danish, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, breads, etc. (occasionally)
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (occasionally)
- Prepare custom-made danish and angel food based on customers’ preferences
- Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers
- Track food supplies, restock and place orders, as needed
Skills
- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, Blodgett ovens, stove tops, freezers, coolers, etc
- Must communicate well with others, so as to help things run smoothly, especially during busy times
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts & to help in other areas when needed
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
