Position Overview
Works on a wide range of commercial and general civil litigation matters, representing clients in court, arbitration, and mediation. Drafts motions, manage discovery, and take a hands-on role in developing legal strategies alongside partners and senior attorneys.
Client Representation
- Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation
- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and procedural motions
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and briefs
- Attend court conferences, assist with depositions, and participate in settlement discussions
- Manage a varied caseload under the guidance of senior attorneys
- Handle discovery processes, including document review and production
- Support case strategy development and collaborate closely with partners and clients
- Participate in practice group meetings, firm-wide training programs and initiatives
- Build strong relationships with clients through consistent communication and service delivery
- 2–3 years of commercial or civil litigation experience
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York State
- Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and juggle multiple matters
- Appellate, creditors’ rights, family law, or labor & employment experience is a plus
