Extended Learning After School Instructor
Reports To: Site Coordinator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree; or
- Two years of college (min 60 credits);
- Parapro certification; or
- Instructional proficiency in language arts, mathematics and science required.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students in academic and enrichment activities.
- Knowledge and experience with differentiated instructional teaching strategies preferred.
- Candidates must be able to work collaboratively and be team players.
- Punctuality and regular attendance required
General Description: The group facilitator will work in collaboration with the program coordinator and other instructors to provide student participants with academic and enrichment support. Instructors will provide support to students during recreation, academic (homework) support, and enrichment times after school hours.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Submit daily attendance and weekly lesson plans.
- Handle behavior management within groups.
- Provide academic support during homework time and assist program coordinator with monitoring student academic progress.
- Assist program partners in conducting activities and managing small groups.
- Plan, develop and lead enrichment activities independently.
- Assisting the program coordinator with various management tasks, as assigned.
- Develop service learning and/or career readiness activities related to club themes.

- Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
- Must be able to assist in the lifting/carrying of students in excess of 50 pounds
- Occasional exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather
Terms of Employment: Part-time, 10 month position. 3:00pm - 5:30pm weekdays (no holidays), Monday through Friday.
Salary: $22.55/hr
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support services.
