Responsibilities
- Plan and execute comprehensive training sessions focused on basketball skills, strategy, and fitness tailored to the team's needs.
- Lead team practices, games, and tournaments with enthusiasm and professionalism, ensuring a positive competitive experience.
- Develop individualized coaching plans that promote athlete development in areas such as shooting, defense, teamwork, and game tactics.
- Foster a supportive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players.
- Manage team logistics including scheduling practices and games, coordinating travel arrangements, and overseeing equipment maintenance.
- Monitor player progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Promote safety protocols during all activities and ensure adherence to university policies and BEAR Code of Conduct guidelines.
Skills
- Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly basketball or related team sports.
- Strong background in teaching physical education or working with students in athletic settings.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to motivate athletes and maintain discipline.
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments to support fitness training programs.
