This is a State position employed by UNC Health Care System with UNC Health benefits. If, however, you are presently an employee of another North Carolina agency and currently participate in TSERS or the ORP, you will be eligible to continue participating in those plans at UNC Health.

Summary
Provides overall supervision of the daily activities of the Climbing Wall to provide a safe climbing environment for members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Attends all staff and area meetings. Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner. Represents the facility while on duty.
- Daily customer contact and interaction while resolving customer satisfaction issues in a timely manner. Maintain professional standards among clients.
- Demonstrate proficiency in climbing techniques, including harness use and fitting, belaying, tying in, spotting and use of climbing equipment.
- Enforces climbing wall policies, procedures and safety standards. Ensures climbing wall areas are maintained in a safe, clean, presentable manner. Ensure all participants have a current Release and Waiver form on file.
- Provides instruction during class programs including Orientation, Bouldering, Top Rope, Auto Belay and Rappel. Provides instructions in climbing techniques and proper use of equipment. Administers all tests, including Bouldering, Top Rope and Belay.

Education Requirements
- None required as long as all other position qualifications are met.
- First Aid certificate within one (1) year from date of hire.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within one (1) year from date of hire.
- Previous indoor climbing experience preferred.
